The Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv fined a driving school teacher for taking a bribe for fictitiously teaching a driver.
This became known from the relevant court verdict.
In June 2025, a resident of Mykolaiv planned to obtain a 'B' category driver's license and, on the recommendation of a friend, called a teacher at the driving school of Master Suprem PE. The next day, the teacher informed her that she could help her with admission and complete the full course of study without attending classes or taking exams. On August 13, the police detained the woman while she was receiving an unlawful benefit of UAH 13,500.
During the court hearing, the offender pleaded guilty and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor. The court classified her actions under Part 2 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions) and, taking into account the full admission of guilt, the absence of aggravating circumstances and the first prosecution, approved the agreement and sentenced her to a fine of UAH 51 thousand (3000 non-taxable minimum incomes).
In particular, the woman was charged UAH 3,565 in procedural costs.
Earlier, a driving school instructor was exposed in Mykolaiv for demanding UAH 14,000 for passing a practical driving test.
According to the investigation, he promised to "help" a driving school student get a positive exam result at a service center to issue a category B driver's license.
The offender was detained on January 8 while receiving the money. He has been served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - extortion and receipt of unlawful benefit. He faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court is to choose a measure of restraint. According to the Constitution, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by law.
