Mother dies in Kherson due to enemy attack in front of her son

The army struck again at peaceful Kherson - this time the Korabelny district came under fire. The attack claimed the life of an elderly woman and left her wounded.

This was reported by Intent with reference to the press service of the Kherson Regional State Administration.

Around 10:00 am on April 6, Russian troops once again opened fire on residential areas of the city. The shells hit an area where civilians were living, and the consequences were tragic: a 78-year-old woman was killed. The worst part is that she was killed right in front of her son.

Witnesses say that the man could not move away from his mother's body. He sat next to her and shouted:"Mom! Mom! Why, ...!". Volunteers tried to pull him away, but he remained in a state of deep shock, not responding to persuasion.

In addition to the deceased, three other women sustained injuries of varying severity. All the victims were hospitalized. Doctors diagnosed them with shrapnel wounds, contusions, blast injuries and closed head injuries. One of the wounded is in critical condition - doctors are fighting for her life.

Natalia, a neighbor of the deceased, spoke about the last minutes before the tragedy. According to her, the woman had called shortly before the attack and said that she would not be able to go to the hospital with her. Natalia decided to return home to help, but did not have time - when she approached the entrance, she saw a column of dust after the explosion.

"I had just reached the sixth entrance and there was a column of dust. I was told that a man was killed and a woman was wounded. I went home and started calling Nadia. At first it was busy, and then my husband answered and said: "She was killed," she recalls.

According to Yaroslav Shanko, the head of the Kherson MVA, the attack left one woman dead and four wounded, cars damaged and more than 150 windows smashed

The day before, Russian troops attacked 33 settlements in the Kherson region. Dozens of objects - from housing to administrative buildings and vehicles - were damaged and people were injured in the attack.

An apartment building, 13 private houses, an administrative building, an office, a shop, and a police car were damaged in Kherson region as a result of the attack.
