Mine clearance: explosive devices found in Mykolaiv park

From September to November, the DanChurchAid office found 17 dangerous submunitions from multiple launch rocket systems.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.

The report says that in August 2024, the city council and the organizations DanChurchAid and Norwegian Church Aid signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, which provides for humanitarian demining of Mykolaiv.

In September, the DanChurchAid office began its work in Dubky Park. As of November, the demining teams found 17 dangerous submunitions from multiple launch rocket systems. The dangerous items were promptly destroyed by the units of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast. The total area of the demined areas is 13,738 square meters. Humanitarian demining of Dubky Park is currently ongoing.

The city council's website emphasizes that the area is still dangerous for citizens to visit and urges them to follow safety rules.

As a reminder, on August 30, at 17:00, the enemy sent FPV drones at the Kutsurubska community. As a result, a residential building and dry grass caught fire in the village of Dmytrivka. The fires were promptly extinguished by firefighters. In addition, the enemy carried out artillery shelling on the territory of the Kutsurub community.

On August 26, three citizens were wounded in Mykolaiv due to a massive rocket attack.

On June 25, residential buildings were damaged in Mykolaiv region as a result of a drone strike. In total, the air defense forces shot down eight shaheds. The falling debris in Mykolaiv district damaged about 15 residential buildings and outbuildings. A dry grass fire also broke out, which was quickly extinguished by firefighters. In the evening, on August 24, at 22:17, the enemy shelled the Kutsurub community with artillery.

In the evening, on August 21, at 18:42, the enemy fired artillery at the Kutsurub community. At night, the enemy fired a ballistic missile, previously an Iskander-M, at the Berezneguvata community. As a result, a fire broke out on a farm, two residential buildings and bushes, which was extinguished by firefighters. The SES evacuated four people.
