The State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education has handed over about 300 textbooks to art lyceums, as well as institutions of professional pre-university and higher education that train specialists in the field of musical art.

The agency announced this on its official website.

As part of the Maqam project, the Svitarta NGO, in partnership with the Union of Lithuanian Tatar Communities, with the support of the European Union (House of Europe program), prepared and published the publication "Colors of Crimea: Arrangements of Crimean Tatar Folk Music for Piano'. This collection is a valuable contribution to the preservation of the musical culture of the indigenous people of Ukraine.

The author of this collection is a Crimean Tatar composer and Honored Artist of Ukraine, Dzhemil Karikov. He devoted his life to his native music, creating numerous works for various instruments and voice. His new collection contains piano arrangements of folk songs and instrumental melodies intended for both concert practice and studying in music institutions of various levels. These works will help to deepen the understanding of the centuries-old traditional musical culture of Crimea and promote cultural dialogue, in particular among the numerous diaspora of Crimean Tatars in different countries.

In turn, the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education (State Agency) organized the transfer of these publications to art lyceums and higher and pre-university education institutions that train specialists in the field of musical art. The purpose of this step is to ensure that future musicians and teachers can already include Crimean Tatar music in their repertoire, promoting its study and dissemination. The organizers and the State Arts Agency expressed their sincere gratitude to all the institutions for their response and willingness to integrate these publications into the educational process.
