A law enforcement officer will be brought to court in Kherson region for participating in the organization and conduct of a pseudo-referendum

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Oleshky District Prosecutor's Offices, an indictment against a law enforcement officer on the fact of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was sent to court.

It is noted that the investigation established that in September 2022, the accused participated in the organization and conduct of a pseudo-referendum on secession from Ukraine and accession to Russia of the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region. The defendant, holding the position of "head of security" at a seized agricultural enterprise in the Bilozerska community, agitated employees to participate in the "vote". In case of refusal, he threatened them with non-payment of salaries. He also organized the movement and arrangement of the so-called "mobile polling station" on the territory of the enterprise.

The press service noted that the suspect is currently in custody, where he will await a court verdict. He faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property, as well as deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 15 years.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation in Melitopol, with operational support provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that the SBU served three more collaborators who helped the racists to hold a pseudo-referendum in Kherson region. The offenders are residents of the village of Borozenske, Beryslav district, and the village of Dnipryany, Kakhovka district, Kherson region. In the fall of 2022, the enemy accomplices, as part of the occupation "election commissions," were preparing for the so-called "expression of will" for the region's accession to Russia.
