In Odesa region, a man will be tried for setting fire to a military vehicle at the behest of the enemy. The incident was uncovered by law enforcement officers during a special operation to document illegal actions.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

In Odesa region, the case of a 19-year-old resident of Bilyayivka, who set fire to the car of a Ukrainian military on the instructions of the enemy, was brought to court.

According to the investigation, the young man is accused of obstructing the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and intentional destruction of property by arson by prior conspiracy.

In June 2025, he received an offer in Telegram from an enemy agent to set fire to Ukrainian military vehicles for money. The offender was sent detailed instructions to complete the task and was also asked to video record the result.

While in Bilyayivka, the accused purchased flammable liquid, poured it on a parked Peugeot Boxer minibus of a military officer and set it on fire. The car burned down completely. He then filmed a video of the fire and sent it to the customer, expecting to receive payment in cryptocurrency.

At the request of the prosecutor 's office, the suspect is being held in custody without bail. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Odesa region.

According to the press service of the prosecutor's office, this year law enforcement officers have already proved the guilt of 17 people who set fire to military vehicles on the order of the enemy. All of them have been brought to justice.

In October, a court sentenced a 24-year-old resident of Donetsk region who tried to set fire to a Ukrainian military facility in Odesa for money. According to the proceedings, he was following the instructions of an unknown person whom the investigation links to Russian special services.
