The high-profile kidnapping of the son of a criminal mastermind and owner of a call center chain in Dnipro caused a scandal and drew the attention of the central government to the situation in the city and the activities of the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.
This was reported by blogger Ihor Lachenkov.
According to his information, due to the significant publicity of the events, the President's Office is considering a comprehensive inspection of law enforcement agencies in Dnipro.
The former head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, who is currently the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, may also be subject to scrutiny. According to sources in the President's Office, his activities in the previous period may also be analyzed as part of the checks.
According to law enforcement sources, representatives of central law enforcement agencies are planned to be sent to Dnipro to conduct official inspections. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption are investigating the circumstances separately. They are focusing on possible management decisions and connections related to the activities of regional authorities.
The case was further publicized by new details about the operation of a network of call centers, which, according to preliminary data, could have acted in the interests of organized groups. According to Komarov, who is in captivity, the activities of these structures were directed not only against Russian citizens, but also against residents of the European Union and the United States of America.
So far, no official comments from law enforcement agencies or those involved in the case have been made public regarding possible inspections or procedural decisions.
Intent contacted Serhiy Lysak 's press service for a comment on the fact that NABU and NAPC, according to Lachen, will be investigating Lysak's activities as head of the MBA in Dnipro, in particular, in connection with the call center cases and the kidnapping of the son of a criminal authority. However, the press service did not comment on the information and urged to rely on official comments and verified facts.
Also recently, Odesa Court of Appeal Judge Ruslan Kotelevsky banned Oksana Pidnesna, editor-in-chief of the publication "Power of Communities," from filming during the hearing in the case of Oleh Maltsev, who is accused of creating an illegal paramilitary group.
