Kherson teacher died on the verge of rescue after occupation

Valentyna Tykhosha, a candidate of pedagogical sciences and associate professor at KSU, tragically died in the Kherson region. She had been living under occupation for more than three years and was about to leave for her family.

This was announced by the rector of the university, Oleksandr Spivakovsky.

Valentyna Ivanovna Tykhosha, PhD in Pedagogy and Associate Professor of the Ukrainian Language Department at Kherson State University, died in occupied Oleshky. The rector of the university noted that the war claimed the life of a teacher who had remained loyal to Ukraine all her life.

According to him, Valentyna Ivanivna was retired, but she lived under occupation for more than three years, keeping her love for her native country in her heart. She had the opportunity to go to her family, and all organizational issues had already been agreed upon, but her fate was tragic. Colleagues and students remember her as an extremely experienced and inspirational teacher who passed on knowledge with great dedication, having educated many generations of teachers and lecturers.

According to Spivakovsky, for her many years of contribution to the development of education, Valentyna Ivanovna was awarded the honorary title of Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine. She is also the author and co-author of numerous monographs, textbooks and manuals used in the educational process. Kherson State University expressed its sincere condolences to Valentyna's family, friends and everyone who knew her, noting that her dedication and love for Ukraine will always remain in the memory of her colleagues and students.

At the end of July, Honored Chess Coach Valeriy Telman, who was 80 years old, was laid to rest in Kherson. In 1997, he was awarded the title of Honored Coach of Ukraine for his significant contribution to the development of chess in the region, and his students have won many victories on the world stage.

At the beginning of the year, the Kherson Theater lost People's Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Chornoshkur. He began his career on stage in 1968 and played more than two hundred roles in 42 years.

Also in January, Maksym Birovash, a journalist, editor, and communicator from Nova Kakhovka, died suddenly. He was 46 years old and worked with leading Ukrainian media outlets, including Forbes, Korrespondent, and Business.
