Starting July 1, Kherson State University will operate under a new organizational structure. The number of faculties will be reduced from eight to five. Accordingly, there will be changes in the dean’s office as well as in the composition of the departments.

This was announced by Kherson State University Rector Oleksandr Spivakovsky.

The decision was supported by the university’s Academic Council. The university will have the following faculties:

The university attributes the changes to a decline in student enrollment and operational challenges during the war. In 2024, the number of students pursuing higher education decreased by 20 percent compared to 2023. In 2025, the number of students fell by another 17%.

“I want to emphasize in particular: this decision was not spontaneous. It was preceded by lengthy discussions, professional debates, and a search for optimal development models,” wrote Oleksandr Spivakovsky.

All educational programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels will continue to operate. Currently, the merged faculties are being led by acting deans; leaders will be elected later at staff conferences.

The Academic Council of Kharkiv State University also approved the architecture of the university’s corporate artificial intelligence ecosystem, along with its functionality and implementation plan. The goal of the project is to create a digital environment for AI agents that will provide automation, analytical support, and coordination of the university’s educational, scientific, administrative, and management processes. This will enable the optimization of the institution’s internal processes.
