Residents of the Kherson region provided numerous comments under the message about a meeting with MPs regarding the construction of fortifications in the Kherson region. In short, the issues concern the payment of rent and taxes for agricultural land on which the defense lines are being built.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

He noted that the regional administration has repeatedly submitted proposals to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on the need to buy out land plots with fortifications for public needs, to provide other free communal land plots within the community, as well as compensation for reasons of impossibility of using them for their intended purpose.

Currently, the work on strengthening the defense borders in the frontline and border regions is actively continuing. The process of strengthening the Kherson region is also ongoing. Currently, the completion rate is 97%, and the construction is fully funded. Platoon and strongholds, anti-tank trenches and reinforced concrete structures are being built on agricultural land.

"We are currently considering various options for providing compensation. The program is planned to be launched next year. After the end of martial law, those fields will be able to grow crops again," added the head of the UMA.

Earlier it was reported that in Odesa region, BES employees discovered the embezzlement of property of the state defense enterprise. The case was referred to the court. The investigation found that the defense enterprise had entered into an agreement with a commercial company to modernize engine and turbine generator test benches. However, the contractor did not perform the work in full, which resulted in losses to the state-owned enterprise in the amount of more than two million hryvnias.
