In Kherson region, a law enforcement officer came under suspicion of corruption by the SBI. According to the investigation, he acted as an intermediary in a scheme to illegally issue driver's licenses, using his official position and receiving bribes for this.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.

The investigation found that the law enforcement officer systematically acted as an intermediary, taking money from his friends in exchange for a guarantee of successful passing of both theoretical and practical exams without a real test of skills. At least three episodes of bribery in the amount of UAH 2.5 thousand and UAH 12.5 thousand were documented.

The funds were then transferred to the organizers of the scheme, who are involved in a separate investigation by the SBI. Thanks to the Bureau's operational work, the illegal "business" was stopped.

The suspect was served a notice of suspicion under Part 4 Art. 368-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Obtaining of unlawful benefit by a group of persons), which provides for imprisonment for up to seven years. The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.

Earlier, the Zavodskyi District Court of Mykolaiv fined a driving school teacher for taking a bribe for fictitious driving lessons .

In June 2025, a resident of Mykolaiv planned to get a 'B' category driver's license and, on the recommendation of a friend, called a driving school teacher at Master Suprem PE. The next day, the teacher informed her that she could help her with admission and complete the full course of study without attending classes or taking exams. On August 13, the police detained the woman while she was receiving an illegal benefit of UAH 13,500.

During the court hearing, the offender pleaded guilty and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor. The court classified her actions under Part 2 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining an undue advantage for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions) and, taking into account the full admission of guilt, the absence of aggravating circumstances and the first prosecution, approved the agreement and sentenced her to a fine of UAH 51 thousand (3,000 non-taxable minimum incomes).
