Kherson Health Official Charged with Negligence Over Expired Medicines

An official of the Department of Health of the Kherson Regional State Administration was served a notice of suspicion of official negligence that caused grave consequences.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, from March to July 2023, the official failed to ensure proper control over the distribution of humanitarian medicines among medical institutions in the region. As a result, some of the medicines, including a drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, went bad because they had expired.

The damage caused by improper control exceeds UAH 1.4 million. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by Kherson regional police investigators with the SBU's operational support.

The chief accountant of one of the village councils of Kherson district is suspected of negligence, which caused significant financial losses to the community.

Recently, the SBI completed an investigation into the former director of the Department of Civil Protection and Defense of the Kherson Regional State Administration. The official is accused of purchasing low-quality clothing for military personnel, which caused the state losses of more than UAH 21 million.

Meanwhile, the Kherson police exposed the head of an Odesa construction company who overestimated the cost of overhauling residential buildings in Blahodatne that suffered from Russian shelling.
