A Kherson court has sentenced a man who corresponded with an FSB representative and passed him information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for high treason.

This is stated in the verdict of the Kherson City Court.

According to the case file, the accused was in cahoots with an operational officer of the Russian FSB, with whom he actively interacted via messengers and a cell phone. During June and July 2023, during martial law, he transmitted information that could contribute to intelligence and subversive activities in favor of the Russian Federation.

The list of transmitted information included coordinates, photos, videos, and messages regarding the location of Ukrainian military and equipment in Kherson and the region. This activity could have contributed to subsequent strikes by the Russian Federation, including missile attacks and other military actions.

Evidence was presented in court, including the results of the seizure of information from the defendant's cell phone, inspection reports, and data from the tactical groups of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Although the defendant denied his guilt, the evidence clearly confirmed his involvement in the criminal acts.

The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason).

Recently, the Kherson City Court announced the verdict against a postal worker who defected to the enemy and helped the Russian occupation administration. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison, but so far in absentia.

Earlier, three residents of the Kherson region who helped the Russians to hold an illegal referendum were sentenced to ten years in prison with the deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the electoral process for fifteen years.

The Kherson court also found a local resident guilty of collaborating with the occupiers during the pseudo-referendum in Kherson region. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
