The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another collaborator who cooperated with the occupiers during the temporary seizure of Kherson.

According to the agency's press service, the suspect was a secretary of one of the city court departments. At the beginning of the full-scale war, the 39-year-old woman worked as a penitentiary inspector at a local penitentiary institution.

It is noted that during the occupation of the regional center, she supported the Nazis, who later appointed her to the occupying Russian administration. There, the collaborator became an "inspector" of the seized penitentiary department in the region, where she was promoted to "lieutenant of the internal service of the Russian Federation". According to the investigation, the suspect kept records of prisoners and their distribution to cells in the Russian prison, which the Nazis set up on the basis of the seized penal colony in Kherson.

After the liberation of the city, the offender first "laid low" and did not leave her home for a long time, and then got a job in a local court. When filling out the application form and enrolling in the state institution, the woman deliberately concealed the fact of her cooperation with the aggressor. The SBU exposed this, documented the criminal actions of the collaborator and detained her at her workplace.

SBU investigators have now served her a notice of suspicion under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (voluntary holding of a position by a citizen of Ukraine in illegal law enforcement agencies established in the temporarily occupied territory). The person involved has already been removed from office. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The offender faces up to 15 years in prison.

The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions under the supervision of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and with the assistance of the Kherson City Court.
