A father and caregiver at a family-style children’s home in the Kherson region was sentenced to life in prison for the systematic sexual abuse of seven girls in his care. The crimes came to light after the girls, who had since reached the age of majority, came forward.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the case file, the youngest girl was only 10 years old at the time of the first crime.
The man did not admit his guilt, but there was sufficient evidence against him to establish the crimes. During a search of the man’s computer, 483 photo and video files containing child pornography were discovered.
After the full-scale invasion began, the family evacuated from the Kherson region. Since early 2024, a family-style children’s home had been operating in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, where the man was arrested in the fall of 2025. During the investigation, six children were removed from the family and placed with other families. The family-type children’s home was disbanded.
On September 4, a man was also detained in Odesa on suspicion of sexual crimes against minors. Among his victims were seven girls aged 10–11.
According to the case file, the 38-year-old Odessa resident found the children through Telegram. He engaged in sexually explicit conversations with them, sent nude photos, exerted psychological pressure, threatened to kill them, and blackmailed them. In this way, he coerced the minors into creating pornographic photos and videos, which he later distributed among other children. All of this took place over a period of nearly two years, specifically from September 2024 to July 2026.
