A man who had registered 37 fictitious companies in his name was put in the dock in Odesa. However, the court decided not to impose a real prison sentence on him, replacing the punishment with a probationary period.

This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security.

Based on the materials of the detectives of the BES regional office, it was established that the man submitted documents for state registration of legal entities with deliberately false information.

The investigation showed that these companies were used to minimize taxes, legalize criminal proceedings and convert non-cash funds into cash for real sector businesses. The defendant himself did not perform any functions at the companies - all documents were signed by other persons whose cases are being investigated separately.

For his "non-participation" in the companies' activities, the man received UAH 10 thousand annually from each company.

The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 205-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery of documents for state registration). He was sentenced to 3 years in prison with disqualification to hold certain positions for 1 year. At the same time, the main sentence was replaced by a probationary period of one year.

Earlier, Intent wrote that law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to the director of a company that was engaged in the construction of apartments on the Black Sea coast and evaded taxes in the amount of UAH 4.5 million. The accused, while performing work on strengthening sloping areas against landslides on Dacha Kovalevsky Street in Odesa, failed to reflect financial and business transactions with the client company in his tax returns. The case against the director of the construction company was brought to court.

Following the intervention of the Odesa Prosecutor's Office, the developer paid more than UAH 2.5 million in equity participation to the city budget.
