In Crimea, Russian operators are charging for the absence of Internet and communication

Residents of the occupied Crimea face regular mobile and internet outages that can last from several hours to several days.

According to the Center for National Resistance, due to constant disruptions, residents of the peninsula have effectively lost the ability to make calls and use online services. Communication problems have affected the networks of all key Russian operators operating in the occupied territory. Despite the lack of services, subscribers' accounts continue to be charged in full.

People's attempts to get help from customer service are in vain: operators avoid specifics and do not give any timeframe for network restoration. At the same time, amid the degradation of communication, Russian telecom companies continue to raise tariffs while limiting the volume of Internet traffic.

The occupation authorities refrain from officially commenting on the causes of the communication collapse, deliberately leaving the population in information isolation.

It is also worth mentioning that residents of the temporarily occupied territories, including Kherson region, are prohibited from recharging their mobile accounts without a Russian passport. In the TOT, the Russian invaders have imposed new restrictions on local residents. Now you can top up your mobile account only with a Russian passport or authorization through the Russian portal of public services.

The Center explains that this innovation is part of the enemy's strategy to strengthen control over Ukrainians and speed up forced passportization. From now on, anyone who wants to use mobile communication must provide personal data, which will allow the occupiers to more accurately track the owners of the numbers.
