Former deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council Yuriy Kormyshkin responded to the suspicion of illegal enrichment brought by the NABU and the SAPO against his wife, current MP Iryna.

Kormyshkin claims that his wife only declared the inheritance she received from her late father, who was "a very influential person in Mykolaiv region."

Yuriy also noted that the situation is being used for "information hype," which complicates his wife's life and work.

"We will definitely defend our case in court. This is a matter of principle! I will not allow anyone to unreasonably defame my wife's honor and slander our family's reputation," he said.

The former deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council denied rumors about the purchase of real estate in Odesa, saying that the house was bought by his company, as well as many other things.

On October 17, the NABU and the SAPO served a notice of suspicion to a current MP from Mykolaiv in a case of illicit enrichment worth over UAH 20 million. She now faces up to 10 years in prison.

In November 2022, the High Anti-Corruption Court ordered Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin to launch an investigation into the possible illicit enrichment of Iryna Kormyshkina. According to preliminary data, she received gifts worth more than UAH 20 million, including a valuable Swiss watch and substantial cash gifts from her father, whose official income did not allow for such generosity.

She owns half of a 63-square-meter apartment in Mykolaiv, a 321.8-square-meter house, a land plot in the village of Lymana, and another 965-square-meter plot in the regional center. During her time in the Verkhovna Rada , Iryna Kormyshkina received a salary of UAH 481 thousand and insurance payments of UAH 91 thousand.

In the summer of 2024, the MP sold property worth UAH 7.3 million. The day before, her husband, latifundist Yuriy Kormyshkin, resigned as a deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council. In particular, on July 11, the MP sold real estate worth more than UAH 6 million, and on July 13, she also sold movable property worth UAH 1.2 million.
