Law enforcement officers detained an FSB agent in Kherson who was adjusting the fire of Russian artillery. He faces life imprisonment for high treason under martial law.

This was reported by the Communication Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Another Russian agent was detained in Kherson. On the orders of Russian special services, he coordinated Russian air and artillery strikes on the regional center from the left bank.

According to SBU cyber specialists, the agent used a chatbot controlled by the Russian secret service to direct enemy fire. The investigation found that a 25-year-old local unemployed man, who was expecting the full occupation of southern Ukraine, was recruited by the FSB through Telegram channels, where he posted pro-Russian comments.

His main tasks included finding and transmitting the coordinates of temporary bases of the Defense Forces and energy facilities. The agent also monitored the locations of enemy shelling, its consequences, and reported to Russian special services.

The SBU exposed and detained the agent. At the same time, law enforcement officers took measures to protect the positions of the Defense Forces and energy facilities.

During the search, the SBU seized two laptops and six phones with SIM cards of different operators, which he used to create fake accounts to hide his cooperation with the enemy.

He was served a notice of suspicion of high treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The offender is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The Kherson resident was also sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for high treason. The court proved that he was spying for the Armed Forces of Ukraine - collecting data on the number and types of military equipment, as well as the routes of convoys heading from Mykolaiv region towards the occupied Kherson region.

In May, in the Kherson region, the soldier illegally videotaped secret maps of the Armed Forces and handed them over to a civilian, which led to the destruction of a surveillance camera monitoring the movement of the Russian army. After that, he left the service without permission and went into hiding for more than 20 days - now he faces up to 10 years in prison.
