The High Anti-Corruption Court has approved a plea agreement concluded with Oleksandr Boyarsky, a judge of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court of Odesa Oblast, in the case of a corruption scheme involving the travel of men liable for military service abroad.

This was reported by Slovo and Dilo, citing its own sources in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

According to the publication's sources, Oleksandr Boyarsky was found guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Receipt of undue advantage". He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, but released on probation for 3 years. For this period, he was banned from holding certain positions.

Oleksandr Boyarsky also undertook to transfer UAH 1 million 59.8 thousand, which was paid as bail for him, to the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. In addition, the court confiscated 20 thousand dollars and 200 thousand hryvnias, which were in the bank accounts of the accused.

Judge Oleksandr Boyarskyi of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court was at the center of a corruption scandal in 2023, when he was suspected of taking a bribe to help a man evade mobilization.

On January 12, the High Council of Justice granted permission to keep the judge in custody. On January 16, 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court arrested the judge for two months with the possibility of bail in excess of UAH 1 million.

According to the investigation, in December 2023, Boyarsky took $1,500 for making a decision that would allow the father to officially formalize the child's residence with him. Such a document makes it possible to avoid mobilization and go abroad with the child.
