The Khadzhibeyskyi District Court of Odesa found the man guilty of obstructing the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period.

As stated in the court's verdict, the man was sentenced to five years in prison, which was, however, replaced by a probationary period of one year.

On May 22, 2025, the convict blocked the car of the alert group of the territorial center for recruitment and social support, in which a mobilized person, four employees of the TSC and a policeman were sitting, with his car and smashed the car with his legs and hands.

As a result, he smashed the right rear light of the CCC car, damaged the right rear sidewall and the right side sliding door, while threatening the people in the car with violence - he expressed insults and threatened their lives and health with an object that looked like a baseball bat.

Eventually, the man was detained by the police. At the trial, he fully admitted his guilt. He compensated for the material damage caused by the car bashing - it cost him 29.4 thousand hryvnias - and sincerely repented of his actions. He also transferred UAH 100 thousand to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is known about the accused that he has no previous convictions, is not registered with a psychiatrist or narcologist, but was examined and treated at the Odesa Regional Medical Center for Mental Health for a neurotic mental disorder in the form of an adaptation disorder and a mixed anxiety-depressive reaction. However, according to the expert's opinion, he did not suffer from mental illness during the period of time when the criminal offense was committed.
