Armed mobile fire teams have begun escorting fuel tankers in Crimea

The fuel crisis in occupied Crimea has worsened, causing gasoline to either disappear entirely from most gas stations or be sold by scalpers at double the normal price. Amid the shortage and regular attacks on logistics, fuel tankers are now escorted by military mobile fire support units.

An activist from Belogorsk told journalists that previously,<span><span><span><span><span><span>military pickup trucks equipped with large-caliber machine guns had only escorted fuel tankers </span></span></span></span></span></span><span><span><span><span><span><span>into Crimea from the Kherson region. Now, however, they have also appeared on Crimean highways.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Now, on Crimean highways, I see that fuel tankers are traveling under the escort of military units: they usually head into Crimea from the Kherson region. As a rule, there are three fuel tankers, with MVG pickup trucks equipped with large-caliber machine guns in front and behind them. Previously, they only escorted the fuel tankers up to the administrative border with Crimea. But apparently, even these measures aren’t particularly helpful, because the gasoline shortage has only worsened in recent days,” he said.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

Previously, an occupation court in Kerch fined a local resident for a video of a military fuel tanker that had been disguised as a civilian truck. The man filmed the vehicle on his phone and sent the video to a friend in Moldova.

The Russian side claimed that the publication of the video allegedly revealed details of military logistics. An adviser to the occupation head of Crimea then accused the man of “exposing” thefuel transport operation.
