Gasoline has once again run out at most gas stations in Crimea

In Russian-occupied Crimea, following a brief improvement in the fuel supply situation, the gasoline shortage has intensified once again. At most gas stations that remain open, diesel fuel is now the primary option available.

This is reported by “Krym .Realii, ” citing local residents.

According to a local activist from Simferopol, the gasoline situation has worsened again. At the same time, fuel prices have not dropped, despite promises from the Russian occupation authorities, and the quality of the gasoline, he says, is causing complaints.

Amid the shortage, local residents are offering various theories as to the causes of the fuel shortage. In particular, one theory suggests that gasoline may be being stockpiled ahead of the September elections to the Russian State Duma, so that it will be available at gas stations in greater quantities and at lower prices before the vote. However, the publication provides no evidence to support this theory.

Local bloggers are also writing about the renewed escalation of the fuel crisis. One of them reported gasoline shortages and rising prices, noting that due to the shortage, people do not even have enough fuel for their generators.

Gasoline quality is cited as a separate problem. On Crimean social media, there are reports of an increase in car malfunctions linked to the use of low-quality fuel. Specifically, there are reports of problems with fuel injectors.

Against the backdrop of supply disruptions and complaints about fuel quality on local social media, the situation is already being called “gasoline extremism.”

Thus, after a brief period of improvement, the gasoline situation on the occupied peninsula has deteriorated again: at a significant number of operating gas stations, gasoline is either unavailable or difficult to purchase, prices remain high, and consumers are complaining about fuel quality.
