On the night of August 16, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an area where an occupying force’s missile unit was concentrated in Rezervne, located in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea. This refers to the launch positions and deployment site of the Russian “Bastion” coastal missile system.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is from the “Bastion” system that the occupiers regularly launch “Onyx” and “Zircon” hypersonic missiles at Ukraine’s southern regions.

"Bastion"is a Russian coastal missile system—available in both stationary and mobile configurations—designed to engage surface ships and ground targets. The system is equipped with “Onyx” and “Zircon” supersonic anti-ship missiles capable of penetrating air defense systems. Before launching the main 3-metric-ton missile, the container-based launcher fires a special mini-propellant booster that orients the missile toward the target in mid-air even before its main engine ignites.

Also last night, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a railway bridge near Svitlodolynske in the Zaporizhzhia region, which the occupiers use to support military logistics and the movement of personnel. Enemy warehouses containing logistical supplies and ammunition in Karlivka, Donetsk Oblast, were also damaged.

On August 14, the occupying authorities in Crimea reported a drone attack on annexed Sevastopol and the Bakhchysarai district. Local residents reported numerous drone flyovers and explosions.

On August 13, a man—preliminarily identified as a former Ukrainian officer—was killed in an explosion in occupied Sevastopol. According to unofficial reports, the victim wasRobert Shageev, a traitor to Ukraine who defected to the Russian Navy.
