Officials from the Economic Security Bureau have charged a lawyer and the company’s founder with organizing a scheme to illegally seize the company’s corporate rights, amounting to nearly 70 million hryvnias.

This was reported by the EBS press service.

Detectives from the Economic Security Bureau’s Territorial Office in the Odesa region established that the suspects organized the illegal transfer of a 30% stake in the company’s authorized capital, which belonged to a Cypriot company. The value of the corporate rights amounted to nearly 70 million hryvnias.

To carry out the scheme, according to the investigation, the suspects created and used documents containing knowingly false information. In particular, they included information in the founding documents regarding an alleged change in the company’s ownership structure and the transfer of 100% of the corporate rights to another company, even though the legal owner had not made any decisions to dispose of his stake.

During the pre-trial investigation, detectives conducted authorized searches at the suspects’ residences and workplaces, during which they seized physical evidence.

The legal owner has already been returned 30% of the corporate shares, valued at nearly 70 million hryvnias. The court confirmed the legality of the order issued by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which annulled the illegal registration actions regarding the change in the company’s ownership.

Earlier, detectives from the Odesa Regional Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine also established that a 30-year-old Odesa resident had registered a company specializing in the export of agricultural products in his own name for 10,000 hryvnias.

In addition, the Economic Security Bureau compelledan entrepreneur providing international transportation services to reimburse the state budget for nearly 10 million hryvnias in unpaid taxes.
