Odesa adopted amendments to the Road Safety Program for 2020-2028. More than UAH 6 billion has been allocated for roads and infrastructure.

The decision was made at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council.

The Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council has submitted proposals to the Odesa City Military Administration to amend the City Target Program "Road Safety in Odesa" for 2020-2028. The purpose of the amendments is to clarify the amount of funding and adapt the program to martial law conditions, in particular after the formation of a new city military administration.

According to the draft, the total cost of the program is more than UAH 6.08 billion. The bulk of the funds are planned to be allocated for major road repairs, modernization of transport infrastructure, and measures to improve traffic safety.

Sources of funding for the program:

According to the plan, the largest expenditures are planned for 2026-2028 - more than UAH 3.3 billion, including capital repairs, safe intersections, modernization of traffic lights and traffic management.

The program will run until 2028 and provides for a set of measures to modernize the transport infrastructure, improve road safety and increase the level of traffic management in Odesa.

The number of buses received by Odesa from other cities to replace electric vehicles has increased to 27 units. The new buses have been tested and have been running in the city since January 5.

Earlier, it was expected that the city would receive a total of 40 buses from different Ukrainian communities: 10 from Lviv and Kropyvnytskyi, 5 from Mykolaiv and Zhytomyr, and 3 from Vinnytsia and Mariupol. The Bila Tserkva community also joined the support.
