Over the past day, four settlements of the Kherson territorial community came under fire from the Russian occupiers.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson MVA Yaroslav Shanko.

The occupiers used artillery and drone terror tactics. Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove and Komyshany came under enemy fire. Private and multi-storey residential buildings, local businesses and civilian vehicles were heavily damaged as a result of the attacks.

As a result of Russian aggression, 11 civilians were injured in the community, including two children - girls aged 9 and 16. All the victims are being provided with the necessary medical care, and specialized services continue to work at the sites of the shelling.

Earlier, Russian troops targeted the buildings of Kherson State University. After the shelling of the main building on February 16, the next day the fifth building of the university came under attack.

In the main building, classrooms and laboratories, where future teachers of physics, mathematics, and computer science had been trained for many years, were severely damaged. The next day, the fifth building, which housed the faculties of philology, journalism, history, psychology and social work, came under fire.

KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovsky, commenting on the latest attacks on the institution, emphasized that the aggressor systematically destroys educational sites in the city, trying to leave the community without access to knowledge.

Also, on February 17, 2026, the Russian army carried out a series of targeted attacks on a civilian medical facility in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson. The enemy attacked the territory of one of the local hospitals three times using unmanned aerial vehicles.
