Rare species and nature conservation

The Red Book is an official registry of rare and endangered species of plants and animals that require protection. It documents biodiversity that is under threat and serves as the basis for developing nature conservation programs. On the territory of Ukraine, the Red Book includes hundreds of species of flora and fauna, especially in southern regions with unique ecosystems. Maintaining and updating this registry is an important part of state policy in the field of nature conservation.
