Day of Mourning in Ukraine
Day of Mourning — an official mourning declared by the authorities of Ukraine in response to tragic events that caused numerous casualties, or in connection with the death of a prominent person. The President of Ukraine issues a decree announcing the Day of Mourning. On such days, broadcasting organizations provide special programming that reflects the reasons for mourning. According to platform materials, Days of Mourning are often declared in Odesa and other Ukrainian cities in connection with losses during military attacks and other tragic events.
