Askania-Nova
Askania-Nova is a biosphere reserve named after Falz-Fein, located in Kherson region. Founded in 1898, the reserve is one of Ukraine's most important nature conservation institutions and is part of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences system. It is renowned for its unique Ukrainian steppe ecosystem and diverse flora and fauna. During Russian aggression, the reserve suffered significant losses — occupiers burned thousands of hectares of territory, and its staff found themselves in difficult conditions.
