The ranking of schools in Odesa was compiled based on the results of the National Multisubject Test (NMT) in 2025. The ranking also includes institutions of professional pre-university and higher education, where the training of professional junior bachelors involves obtaining a complete general secondary education.
The basic indicator for ranking schools in the table is the rating score calculated on the basis of the average of the scores obtained by test participants in all NMT subjects, taking into account the total number of tests taken by graduates of each school. It is this rating that is taken into account in the column "Place in the ranking of Ukraine".
Students from a number of schools left their regions due to the hostilities and continued their education online in other regions of Ukraine or abroad. This may have affected the place of a particular school in the ranking.
Given these peculiarities, the website states that it is not advisable to make management decisions based on the results of students of a particular school in the overall ranking.
In total, there are 145 schools in the 2025 Odesa School Ranking based on NMT results. Previously, Intent published the ranking of Odesa schools for 2024, when there were 142 schools.
The same two Odesa educational institutions remained in the top 100 schools of Ukraine as last year - Odesa Lyceum No. 117 of Odesa City Council and the municipal institution "Richelieu Scientific Lyceum". Both improved their rankings: Lyceum No. 117 moved up from 52nd to 46th place, while the Richelieu Lyceum was ahead of it and reached 31st place from 71st position.
Compared to last year, the composition of the top ten schools in the city has hardly changed. Lyceum No. 117 and Richelieu Lyceum are still in the lead, but this year Richelieu pushed its rival to second place and took the top spot. Odesa private lyceums Krok and Harmonia, Odesa lyceum Leader of Odesa City Council improved their position in the ranking. Primorsky Lyceum of Odesa City Council dropped the most in the ranking - from the 3rd position to the 8th.
Odesa Lyceum No. 1 named after A. P. Bystrina and Odesa Lyceum No. 2 dropped out of the top ten. Instead, the top 10 now includes Odesa International Academic School and Odesa Lyceum No. 7 of Odesa City Council (5th and 10th place, respectively).
