A Ukrainian delegation has set out for the occupied town of Oleshky. They will deliver humanitarian aid to the town and organize the safe evacuation of local residents.
This was announced by Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, this mission was made possible thanks to agreements with the Russian side, facilitated and coordinated by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump.
The Ombudsman is traveling to Oleshky in person. He noted that when it comes to saving people, it is important to be there in person, to understand what is happening on the ground, and to make every effort to ensure that the agreements reached are implemented.
Lubinec wrote that if he had to go for the sake of just one person, he would do it again.
The ceasefire began on October 27 at 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time. According to the ombudsman, the parties are fully complying with the agreed-upon terms, and no violations of the ceasefire have been recorded.
As Intent previously reported, the situation regarding Russian attacks in southern Ukraine has changed amid a local ceasefire in the area of occupied Oleshky. On October 27 and 28, reports indicated no shelling in the Kherson region, as well as a calmer situation in the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.
On the morning of October 28, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that over the previous 24 hours, on October 27, no shelling had been recorded in the region.
This stands in stark contrast to the situation the day before, when Russian drones and aircraft attacked 36 settlements. At that time, residential neighborhoods and cars were on fire, and three people were injured, including a child.
