On the morning of May 18, a civilian ship flying the Panamanian flag was hit while sailing through the Ukrainian corridor to the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa region.

According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, the vessel was damaged and a fire broke out, which the crew extinguished on their own without any injuries.

Despite the attack, the ship continued to move. Oleg Kiper stated that this is the third vessel to come under Russian attack this morning. Earlier it was reported that as a result of the Russian attack, which lasted on the night of May 18, two vessels sailing to the ports of Odesa region by the Black Sea were damaged.

These were vessels flying the flags of Guinea-Bissau and the Marshall Islands, which were in the waiting area and moving through the Ukrainian corridor to the ports of Greater Odesa.

The hits caused small fires on both vessels, which were localized by the ship's crew. There were no injuries among the crews. The vessels are underway and have continued to move to their ports.

According to the Ukrainian Navy Command, the KSL DEYANG, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, belongs to a company from the People's Republic of China and its crew consisted of Chinese citizens.

On the night of May 18, the Russian army once again attacked Odesa with attack drones, injuring an 11-year-old boy and a 59-year-old man. As a result of the hostile attack, three residential buildings were hit by unmanned aerial vehicles in Kyiv and Prymorskyi districts of Odesa. One of them, a one-story house in Prymorskyi district, was completely destroyed. Other buildings had damaged facades, roofs and glazing. Local fires broke out and were extinguished.
