Director of a pro-Putin foundation dies in Crimea following a strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, Anatoliy Chernyshov —executive director of the “People’s Front” Foundation—suffered injuries from landmines and explosives following an airstrike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and died in the hospital. The deceased headed a pro-Putin organization that supplied equipment to the occupying forces.

The foundation stated that Putin posthumously awarded Chernyshov the “Order of Courage.”

According to the organization itself, Chernyshov directly coordinated the procurement of military equipment worth tens of billions of rubles and initiated the creation of training camps for mobile air defense fire groups in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The “People’s Front” Foundation referred to itself as “the movement of Russian President” Vladimir Putin. It was established in 2022 by Putin’s “All-Russian People’s Front” movement. The foundation is used to simulate broad public support for the dictator’s policies. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the organization became a key civilian platform for collecting funds, equipment, and supplies for the Russian Federation’s occupying army through the specially created “Everything for Victory!” fund. The organization is actively operating in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, financing propaganda activities and forming units of so-called “volunteers” to legitimize the occupation. 

Earlier, in occupied Sevastopol, a man—preliminarily identified as a former Ukrainian officer—was killed in an explosion. According to unofficial reports, the victim wasRobert Shageyev, a traitor to Ukraine who defected to the Russian Navy.
