In occupied Sevastopol, a man—preliminarily identified as a former Ukrainian officer—was killed in an explosion. According to unofficial reports, the man in question is Robert Shageev, a traitor to Ukraine who defected to the Russian Navy.
The incident was reported by the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind.”
According to the channel, at the time of the explosion, the man was walking down a staircase with a friend on Stoletovsky Avenue. Preliminary reports indicate that the device was planted in a trash can near a bench. The man died at the scene from his injuries. There were also reports that a woman was allegedly involved in the explosion.
“The explosion was so loud that at first we thought a drone had struck the building,” eyewitnesses said.
Later, “Crimean Wind” reported that, according to preliminary data, the victim was Robert Mansurovich Shageev —a former officer of the Ukrainian Navy and commander of the submarine “Zaporizhzhia,” who transferred to the Russian Navy in 2014. This information has not yet been officially confirmed.
Sources providing details about the victim’s identity are calling the incident a terrorist attack, but there has been no official confirmation of this classification from law enforcement agencies.
Later, “Crimean Wind” reported that the information regarding the woman’s involvement in the explosion on Stoletovsky Avenue is false. According to the channel, Russian law enforcement officials made this statement, citing the suspect’s interrogation.
It is currently unknown who planted the explosive device or what the motives for the attack were. The investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
