A rocket-powered drone attack on the Odesa region claimed the life of a 23-year-old man

On September 22, during another attack by Russian jet drones in the Odesa region, one person was killed and two other men were injured; one of them is in serious condition.

According to Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, the enemy continues to terrorize the peaceful Odesa region.

“Warehouse facilities were damaged as a result of the strikes by jet drones. Large-scale fires broke out,” the statement said.

The prosecutor’s office specified that a 23-year-old man was killed. A 20-year-old and a 39-year-old man were also injured. One of them is in serious condition at the hospital.

Law enforcement officers are documenting war crimes at the scene.

A pretrial investigation has been launched into the commission of war crimes resulting in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast, a World Health Organization (WHO) warehouse storing medical supplies was damaged as a result of a nighttime attack by Russia. At the time of the strike, no WHO staff were on the warehouse premises.

Also, on September 22, Russia struck civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. Storage facilities caught fire, resulting in a large-scale blaze. There were no casualties at that time.

However, due to heavy smoke, experts tested the air quality—the levels of hazardous substances and combustion products were within normal limits, and no threat to the population was detected.

Prior to that, Russian forces had struck Odesa with a jet-powered drone. A man who was in his own garage was killed in that attack.
