One person was killed in Odesa as a result of a Russian attack

After lunch on September 16, Russian forces launched a rocket-powered drone strike on Odesa. One fatality has already been reported.

This was reported by Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

Lysak initially reported the attack on the city and a fire that broke out in one of the districts, noting that details were still being confirmed.

Later, he confirmed that one person had been killed as a result of the enemy attack.

“Unfortunately, we have learned of one fatality resulting from the enemy attack on the city. Our condolences go out to the victim’s family and loved ones, said the head of the Military Administration.

According to him, garages were on fire. Cars and private homes were also damaged.

As previously reported by Intent, on the night of September 12, Russian forces launchedamassivestrikeon Odesa. A "Kalibr" missile struck a 25-story building in Arkadia.

Two people were killed in the attack; their bodies were recovered by rescue workers during search-and-rescue operations. Among the apartments that were completely destroyed was the home of Ukrainian tennis playerDayana Yastremska’s family.

Also, on September 12, inChornomorsk, Odesa Oblast, a local hotel that was being used as a rehabilitation center was damaged as a result of an enemy strike. 

On August 1, a Russian “Shahed” drone struck a high-rise residential building inArkadia. A fire broke out, and three people were injured—a 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old boy were hospitalized with thermal burns, and a 30-year-old woman was also injured.
