Sevastopol Occupation Deputy Faces 12 Years for Collaboration with russia

After the occupation of Crimea, the local resident actively cooperated with the aggressor state and carried out information activities in support of its armed forces.
According to the prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, during 2022-2023, as the "head of the Gagarin municipal district of Sevastopol" and head of the local administration, he repeatedly appeared in pro-Russian media programs, and personally recorded and distributed videos in which he approved of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and called for support for the enemy army.
"Also, the 'official' repeatedly transferred material resources to the units of the Russian Armed Forces that are engaged in hostilities against Ukraine," the agency said.
In addition, the suspect took part in illegal elections to the "Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol of the III convocation", as a result of which in September 2024 he was declared the winner in the "single-member constituency No. 3" and elected a deputy of the said occupation body.
Under the procedural supervision of the autonomy's prosecutor's office, the occupation deputy of the "legislative assembly of Sevastopol" was served a notice of suspicion. His actions are classified as collaboration, aiding the aggressor state, dissemination of materials containing justifications, recognition of the legitimacy of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants, using the media. For such actions, he faces up to 12 years in prison.
Earlier , the Security Service of Ukraine served a notice of suspicion of collaboration to 46-year-old Rustem Nimetullayev, a resident of Sevastopol. He is accused of working for the enemy as a deputy of the occupation Duma of Kherson region and holding the position of chairman of one of its committees.
It was also reported that on the eve of the Russian elections in the temporarily annexed Crimea, Russian security forces tried to intimidate Crimean Tatars. According to the head of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov, they handed Crimean Tatar activists "warnings about the inadmissibility of violating the law" on his Facebook page.
