In the village of Antonivka, Kherson region, a local resident was injured by a Russian mine.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, a 59-year-old man stepped on a "petal" anti-personnel mine near a bus stop. As a result of the detonation, he sustained an explosive injury and traumatic amputation of his foot.

"The victim was hospitalized. He is in serious condition," the statement said.

In total, since the beginning of 2024, the State Emergency Service in Kherson region has recorded 38 cases of explosive explosions. These incidents killed 11 people, including 1 child, and injured 33 others, including one child.

The emergency service reminds:

  • If you see a suspicious object, do not approach, touch or try to move it.
  • Leave the place of discovery as carefully as possible, warn others about the danger.
  • Call 101 or 102 and provide clear information about the location of the IED.
  • Tell your children that unfamiliar objects can be dangerous and remind them not to touch anything suspicious.
  • Do not enter areas marked "Beware of mines!" or "Dangerous area!"
  • If you find explosives, call 101 or 102 immediately.

Earlier, the Russian occupation army, which cynically terrorizes the population of the de-occupied Kherson region, recently remotely mined a section of one of the streets in the Dniprovskyi district of the city with anti-personnel landmines"Petal".

Also in Kherson, police explosive technician Oleksandr Viter was killed during demining after Russian attacks . Before that, six employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, who were engaged in humanitarian demining in Kherson region, came under targeted fire from Russians and were killed. Two more SES employees, including a female paramedic, were injured.
