Two occupation deputies from Crimea, who joined Russians during the annexation of the peninsula, will be tried

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol sent to court indictments against two Ukrainian citizens who took part in the illegal elections on the peninsula. They are charged with collaboration. The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years in prison.
This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The investigation established that one of the accused was elected in April 2023 as a deputy of the occupation "Alushta City Council of the Republic of Crimea of the second convocation in the single-member constituency No. 2" from Putin's United Russia party. Later, the occupation authorities appointed him "chairman of the commission on the development of the sanatorium-resort complex, tourism, health, education, culture, youth policy, sports, employment and social protection of the population".
Another defendant was elected in September 2023 as a deputy of the occupation "council of the Ternovskiy municipal district of the third convocation in the two-mandate electoral district No. 3 of Sevastopol . Sevastopol".
Now the autonomy's prosecutor's office has sent to court indictments against two Ukrainian citizens who took part in the illegal elections on the peninsula.
By their actions, the occupation deputies contribute to the implementation of the policy of the Russian occupation authorities and ensure its activities in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
Earlier, five occupation "servants of Themis" who administer "justice" on behalf of and in the interests of the aggressor state were convicted. For committing high treason, they were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 12 to 14 years.
Also, an occupation official from Crimea was sentenced in absentia to 7 years in prison for collaboration.
In addition, the former deputy head of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Sevastopol was served a notice of suspicion of treason. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
