In five communities of Mykolaiv region, local residents found a cluster munition, a fuse, fragmentation ammunition for under-barrel grenade launchers, an unmanned aerial vehicle and the remains of an S-300 missile. Explosive experts from the regional police seized and destroyed the remains of the enemy weapon.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.

Over the weekend, police stations in the region received reports from residents about suspicious objects found in fields and forests. Police officers promptly arrived at the scene to inspect the area and neutralize the remnants of enemy weapons.

In one of the communities, residents found a dangerous object attached to a tree with tape. Explosive experts determined that it was a fuse for a unified fuse of a hand grenade and destroyed it in a safe place near the place of discovery.

On the territory of other communities, police destroyed the remains of a drone, S-300 missiles, fragmentation ammunition for under-barrel grenade launchers and a cluster munition.

Recently, residents of a village in the Shevchenkivska community found a drone warhead and an unexploded high-explosive cluster munition in the fields. Explosive ordnance disposal experts arrived to inspect the area and neutralize the remnants of the enemy weapon. It turned out that during one of the attacks, air defense fighters shot down a UAV, but the detonation did not occur, and the drone remained dangerous, as it contained up to 50 kilograms of explosives.

Local residents also reported to the police a suspicious object resembling an F-1 grenade near the village of Dobra Krynytsia and a cluster munition near the village of Shyroke. Due to the high danger of the cluster munitions and the impossibility of their transportation, specialists from the police explosive service department destroyed them by controlled detonation at the place of discovery.

In June, sappers found more than a hundred explosive items underwater in Mykolaiv region. Despite the huge volume and results of the pyrotechnic service's searches, the region remains one of the most mined. The sappers and divers found 150 explosive items, examining the seabed over an area of more than 40.3 hectares. Two teams have been set up in the region to carry out such work, so the work is ongoing.
