A new 35 kV overhead power line is being built in Mykolaiv region, which will become a backup power source for tens of thousands of residents of one of the region's districts.

This was reported by Mykolaivoblenergo.

Power engineers note that due to constant Russian shelling and damage to power facilities, they are forced to look for additional opportunities to ensure a stable power supply. Therefore, in addition to repairing damaged networks and equipment, new infrastructure projects are being implemented in the region.

An 8-kilometer-long overhead line is currently under construction in the Mykolaiv region. In the event of accidents or enemy attacks, it will allow tens of thousands of consumers to be quickly re-energized and reduce outages.

International assistance plays an important role in the project implementation. The power engineers managed to obtain a significant part of the necessary materials from humanitarian stocks.

Experts emphasize that the new backup line will be an additional element of the region's energy security and will help restore power supply faster after possible infrastructure damage.

Recently, a new regime of power outages was introduced in Mykolaiv district of Mykolaiv region due to limited grid capacity.

As a reminder, on the morning of April 16, Russian troops struck at the energy infrastructure of Mykolaiv region, which led to large-scale power outages.

The morning attack of Russian troops on Mykolaiv on February 22 damaged energy infrastructure facilities. The occupiers used Shahed attack drones, which led to large-scale blackouts in the city.

According to preliminary data, about 16,000 customers were left without electricity. Work is currently underway to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and restore power. It is reported that there were no casualties. Specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and restore power.
