On the morning of April 16, Russian troops struck at the energy infrastructure of Mykolaiv region, which led to large-scale power outages.

This was reported by Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

Currently, energy specialists are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack and restore power supply. Details on the extent of the damage are being clarified.

Earlier, Intent wrote that hourly power outages were introduced in Mykolaiv on March 18 amid an emergency in the power system.

As a reminder, the morning attack by Russian troops on Mykolaiv on February 22 damaged energy infrastructure facilities. The occupiers used Shahed attack drones, which led to large-scale blackouts in the city.

According to preliminary data, about 16,000 customers were left without electricity. Work is currently underway to eliminate the effects of the shelling and restore power. It is reported that there were no casualties. Specialists are working to eliminate the effects of the shelling and restore power.

It also became known that the energy sector of Kherson region will receive 1 million euros of financial assistance from the German region of Schleswig-Holstein. The grant funds will be used to technically strengthen the power system and eliminate the consequences of damage.

"This amount is twice as much as originally planned. After we spoke to the regional government, they decided to increase the assistance," said Oleksandr Prokudin, head of Kherson Regional State Administration.

In addition to financial aid, the region is waiting for 13 armored vehicles to be delivered to evacuate the wounded and provide emergency services (the first batch of three vehicles will arrive in February).
