The SBU caught the eye of a journalist from Kherson, Yevhen Bilyi, who collaborates with the occupiers and justifies Russian aggression. He has been charged with several articles.

This was reported on thewebsite of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, Yevhen Bilyi, a 45-year-old resident of Kherson, has been the editor-in-chief of the Naddnipryanska Pravda newspaper, created by the occupation administration, since July 2022. The publication regularly published materials that justified the actions of the Russian Federation.

As editor-in-chief, the suspect organized the newspaper's work by recruiting employees and coordinating publications with the occupation authorities.

After the liberation of Kherson from the occupiers, Bilyi moved to the territory controlled by Russia, where he continues to manage the newspaper and carry out information activities against Ukraine.

The investigation established that he distributed materials calling for changes in the borders of Ukraine and appeared in a video of the occupation administration calling for participation in the illegal presidential elections in Russia.

Yevhen Bilyi is charged:

  • Organization of political events and information cooperation with the aggressor (Part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code), which provides for up to 12 years in prison.
  • Holding a position in illegal authorities (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code), punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
  • Justification and glorification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation (Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code), punishable by up to 8 years in prison.

According to the Chesno movement, Bilyi worked as the editor-in-chief of the Industrialka website and lived in Odesa for some time. After 2014, he left Kherson. It is known that even then Bilyi began pro-Russian activities - Kherson Self-Defense published posts about Bilyi's discrediting the Armed Forces and working for representatives of the Russian Federation.

He started working as a journalist for the newspaper "Gorizhanyn i Goroyanka" owned by Volodymyr Saldo.

Intent has already written about the occupiers' accomplice, who will be brought to justice.
