Two residents of Kherson who worked for a pseudo-tax agency during the Russian occupation were sentenced to long prison terms. The court found them guilty of collaboration and ordered the confiscation of their property.
This is stated in the verdicts of the Kherson City Court of Kherson Oblast dated October 26 and 27, 2026.
According to the case files, one of the defendants held the position of deputy head of the logistics department of the so-called “Tax Service of the Kherson Region.”
The other defendant served as the acting head of that department. Both organized the logistical support for the illegal body established by the occupying administration.
Until September 2021, the man worked as the head of the transportation support sector of the Kherson Regional Patrol Police Department within the Patrol Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
The court heard both cases in absentia. In the first case, the woman was sentenced to 13 years in prison; in the second, the man was sentenced to 14 years. Both were also barred from holding positions in state authorities, local self-government bodies, and law enforcement agencies, and all property belonging to them was confiscated.

The sentences were handed down under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—for voluntarily holding a position in an illegal law enforcement agency in a temporarily occupied territory. The prison terms will be calculated from the date of their arrest.
