Law enforcement officials investigated the theft of grain in Izmail

Authorities in Izmail are investigating a possible grain theft. As part of the case, law enforcement officials conducted searches in Izmail and Kyiv, and a court ordered the seizure of property.

This decisionwas issued by the Izmail City and District Court.

According to the investigation, in May, two individuals may have fraudulently obtained grain products by abusing a position of trust. Subsequently, according to law enforcement, the grain was unloaded in Izmail on Bolhrad Highway. The case has been registered as fraud.

During a search of the apartment of one of the suspects, law enforcement officers seized two USB drives, two notebooks containing notes, an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and an Apple MacBook laptop. Investigators noted that they planned to examine the devices and, if necessary, send them for forensic analysis to document any potential correspondence between those involved in the grain theft.

On the same day, a search was conducted at the office of “Grainer” LLC in Kyiv, which, according to court documents, was used by another suspect. There, authorities seized an ASUS laptop, a Prime system unit, and 17 seals and stamps belonging to various companies and individual entrepreneurs.

Among them were seals belonging to “Grainer” LLC, “Ziren Komerts Ukraine” LLC, “Agro Fabrika” LLC, “Mandry za Smakom” LLC, “Carline” LLC, “Oscar” LLC, as well as several sole proprietorships. Some of the stamps bore inscriptions related to the acceptance of documents, certification of their compliance, and the weighing of cargo.

Investigators asked the court to seize the confiscated property, as they considered it evidence in the case. In particular, law enforcement officials planned to examine the seals to determine whether the aforementioned companies and officials were involved in the possible embezzlement of grain.

The judge agreed with the investigators’ arguments and seized two flash drives, notebooks, an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a MacBook, an ASUS laptop, a Prime system unit, and 17 seals and stamps. The seizure of property entails a temporary restriction on the right to dispose of, manage, or use it.

Also, on the morning of September 29, approximately 50 armed men wearing balaclavas entered the premises of the “Borivazh” terminal at the“Pivdennyi” port in the Odesa region and took control of it. They blocked access to the facility.
