Law enforcement officials have referred to court a case against a resident of the Kakhovka District who, during the occupation of Nova Kakhovka, voluntarily assumed a leadership position in the occupying administration. The man is charged with collaboration.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation notes that during the occupation of Nova Kakhovka, the defendant knowingly agreed to work for representatives of the aggressor state. According to the case file, no later than September 6, 2022, he voluntarily assumed the position of deputy head of the Nova Kakhovka District Department under the occupation authorities—head of the unit of the Service for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations, and Disaster Relief in the Kherson region.
Thus, according to the prosecution, the man became part of the occupying law enforcement agency and facilitated its operations in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
As previously reported by Intent, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that it had charged Lyudmyla Aleinik, a 42-year-old native of Crimea, with voluntarily collaborating with the occupiers. She currently serves as the deputy head of the illegal tax service in the Kherson region. For holding a position in the occupying law enforcement agency and carrying out propaganda and executive activities in the blockaded city of Skadovsk, the suspect faces up to 15 years in prison.
