The woman agreed to run a lyceum in the village of Tomyna Balka, Bilozerka district, during the occupation of Kherson region. The court sentenced her to 12 years with partial confiscation of property.

This is stated in the verdict of the Kherson City Court.

According to the case file, in July 2022, she was appointed director of the Tomynobalka School, an institution created by the occupation authorities. She performed administrative functions: she held meetings, urged teachers to work according to the Russian program, searched for employees for the new "school" and accepted children for training according to Russian educational standards.

In addition, between September and November 2022, she approved the calendar and thematic plans for the school year and kept all documentation in Russian.

Witnesses in court confirmed that the defendant became the director of the seized school, offered employment to local residents, and facilitated the importation of Russian textbooks. A sign with the coat of arms of the Russian Federation hung on the facade of the institution, cabinets with literature from Russia were placed in the classrooms, and the Russian flag was hung. In addition, the staff of the institution agitated parents to send their children to the newly created occupation school, and armed Russian military were often present on the premises.

The court found that by her actions, the woman deliberately assisted the Russian occupation authorities. Using her powers as a "school principal," she facilitated the integration of the school into the Russian education system, contrary to Ukrainian law.

The woman was sentenced to 12 years in prison with confiscation of half of her house and land plot. In addition to the main punishment, the convict was banned from holding positions in state authorities, local self-government and positions related to the performance of organizational, administrative or administrative and economic functions for 15 years.

According to the Center for Investigative Journalism, this is 61-year-old Inna Polishchuk.

Earlier, the court sentenced two pensioners for managing occupation schools in the Kherson region. They were convicted of collaboration, but so far in absentia.

Also in the dock was an educator from Kherson region, who headed a department in the occupation "ministry of education".

It should be added that in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region, the Russian invaders presented a new textbook on the so-called "history of the Kherson region" for students in grades 5-7
