A professor at one of the local universities in Kherson organized the training of students according to the standards of the Russian Federation. The professor has been suspected of collaboration, but so far in absentia.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation found that in October 2022, the suspect held the position of the so-called "acting head of the Department of Applied Psychology and Personality Development of the Faculty of Psychology" at an educational institution established by the occupation administration under Russian law. This university functioned on the basis of the seized Kherson university, which was named "State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education of Kherson Region "Kherson State Pedagogical University".

Later, the occupation authorities appointed her as the head of the department. The suspect organized the educational process according to Russian standards, taught disciplines in Russian and represented the university at educational events held in Russian educational institutions.

The educator was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It is worth adding that such a crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of ten to fifteen years and with or without confiscation of property.

Cooperation with the occupiers in the temporarily occupied territories is a fairly common practice.

Recently, the SBU detained seven residents of the Kherson region who collaborated with the Russian invaders during the occupation of the region.

Also, an educator from Kherson region, who headed a department in the occupation "ministry of education," was in the dock.

Meanwhile, a resident of Kherson was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for voluntarily taking a position in an illegal body created by the occupiers. The woman worked as an "expert" in the so-called "Expert Forensic Center" controlled by the Russian occupation administration.
