A resident of Kherson was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. She was tried for collaboration.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, during the occupation of Kherson, the local resident voluntarily took a position in an illegal body created by the occupiers. According to the agency, she worked as an "expert" in the so-called "Expert Forensic Center" controlled by the Russian occupation administration.

The woman was fulfilling the orders of the occupation authorities, in particular, preparing expert opinions as part of the work of this pseudo-law enforcement agency.

The court found her guilty of collaboration in accordance with Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property and a ban on holding public office for the same period.

Recently, a court sentenced a resident of Kherson region to seven years in prison for collaborating with the occupation authorities. She is currently in custody until the sentence enters into full force. Thus, in September 2022, she took the position of "deputy chairman" and participated in the activities of an illegal "election commission" created by the occupation administration to hold a pseudo-referendum on the secession of Kherson region from Ukraine and accession to the Russian Federation. The woman organized this "referendum" in the Borozensky territorial community, distributed "ballots", kept records of votes and handed them over to the occupation representatives.

Prior to that, in Kherson, the SBU announced another suspicion to the occupation rector, who headed the pseudo-structure of the Russian forces - the Kherson Regional Duma. She was previously sentenced to 12 years in prison. In September 2023, she participated in the illegal elections to the "Duma", received a deputy mandate and headed the fake body, supporting the occupation regime in the Kherson region.

In addition, a resident of Hola Prystan, Kherson region, was notified of being suspected of treason.
